1.421 NDSatCom-KuLBand-Downconverter

This page describes the device driver and the device window for the ND-SatCom down-converters. There are four different variants of the driver available which only differ at the RF frequency range:

Device window pages

The following table shows which device window pages are available with this individual device type. Tool-bar functions not mentioned here are described at the general description of device windows .

Configuration parameters

At the maintenance page of the device window there are a couple of configuration parameters which must be set to make the software talk to the Downconverter.

parameter description
address The device address (decimal) as set at the device's front panel.
Serial Remember to set the line parameters for the serial interface connected to the down-converter. It is recommended to operate the device at 9600,N,8,1 .

Communication protocol / Interface type

This device driver requires the Miteq-MOD95 protocol. The factory preset setting of the down-converter is RS485, it however may be jumpered to RS232 inside.

Installation

Before you can operate the down-converter with the satnms software, you must prepare the unit to match the interface parameters expected by the software. At the front panel, use the "SF" special functions to set the unit to 9600 baud / no parity. The device address must match the value set at the configuration parameters above.
