The sat-nms software provides a elaborate event logging facility which lets the operator keep track of device faults and other events.
The event log database in the sat-nms software stores device fault messages and other events. Each individual fault flag a device driver read from the device gets logged when it changes it's state. Beside this events like the start of the software, user logins, or backend communication connections to the MNCs are logged.
With device faults, not only the appearance of the fault is logged. Also the end of the fault state is logged by the device driver. The latter message also contains a note about the endurance of the fault state.
