At the maintenance page of the device window there are a couple of configuration parameters which must be set to make the software talk to the Downconverter. Default serial settings are Protocol RS485 with 9600/8N1.

Remark
External and software tx: If the signal on Pin B is grounded to Secondary GND (Pin A), the unit will be hard- wired enabled. If the signal is left open, the unit is not hardwired enabled. Software TX Enable is logically ORd with external /TX_EN; either one will enable the unit.
